FAQs

What is Bilona Ghee?

Our Bilona Ghee is made using cultured White Butter (Makhan). Milk is boiled and then fermented into curd overnight using Curd or Chaas. It is then churned using traditional Bilona method to extract Makhan (White Butter) which is then heated to make Desi Bilona Ghee. It usually takes 30 Liters of milk to make one Litre Ghee using this process.

What is the difference between the Ghee made from Cream and Makhan?

Ghee can either be made by heating cream or by makhan. As per Ayurveda, ghee must be made using makhan as it is healthier than any other Ghee. What is Free Grazing or Grass-Fed Milk?

Cows in large dairy farms are usually tied all day and are fed with a lot of unnatural diet. The natural diet of Cows is wide variety of seasonal Green Fodder. This can be possible if the Cows graze in vast Green Pastures and Forests throughout the year which substantially increases the Vit A and D in milk and also improves the health of the cows.

What is Cruelty Free Milk?

Hormone Free – It’s a usual practice by dairy farmers to inject the cattle with harmful hormones like the bovine growth hormone and oxytocin which have known to cause complications such as pre mature puberty in children. Our milk is 100% hormone free. Each and every cattle at our farm has a name and we all consider them a part of our family. Calves Priority – We give first priority to the calves by feeding them 25-50% milk of the milk and once they are fully fed we start the milking process.

All the cows, be it milking or non-milking are treated the same way and none of them end up in the streets. This entire process makes our milk ethical and cruelty free.
