Didn’t find extraordinary

Aroma and taste was same like other premium brand (with lower price). This one was quite expensive per given it’s taste value.

FAQs

What is Bilona Ghee?

Our Bilona Ghee is made using cultured White Butter (Makhan). Milk is boiled and then fermented into curd overnight using Curd or Chaas. It is then churned using traditional Bilona method to extract Makhan (White Butter) which is then heated to make Desi Bilona Ghee. It usually takes 30 Liters of milk to make one Litre Ghee using this process.

What is the difference between the Ghee made from Cream and Makhan?

Ghee can either be made by heating cream or by makhan. As per Ayurveda, ghee must be made using makhan as it is healthier than any other Ghee. Bilona Ghee has very good amount of Unsaturated Fat Content like Omega 3/6/9, CLA, Butyric Acid and lot more. Cream based Ghee is sticky, has higher saturated fat content and just doesn’t taste as good as Bilona Ghee.

What is the difference between Butter and White Butter (Makhan)?

Butter is fermented cream extracted by churning Milk directly whereas makhan is made by churning curds which is made by fermenting milk. The nutritional quotient of both differ substantially with Makhan having immense benefits as compared to Cream based Butter.

What is the myth around consumption of Ghee?

Ghee has always been considered a healthy part of diet. Swapping ghee with refined oils has perhaps been the biggest blunders of modern cooking As per Ayurveda, it is on top of all oils but unfortunately it has been surrounded by a lot of myths. Let’s quash some of these myths.

Myth: Ghee is fattening.
Fact: Ghee is lipolytic, it breaks down fat due to its unique SCFA (Short Chain Fatty Acids).

Myth: Ghee is Saturated Fat.
Fact: Yes, a rather unique one. It not just burns as a fuel but also mobilizes stubborn fat.

Myth: Ghee is harmful for the heart.
Fact: It is rich in antioxidants, CLA and fat soluble vitamins - A, D, E & K making it beneficial for the heart.

Myth: Ghee increases cholesterol in the body.
Fact: Ghee reduces cholesterol by increasing the contribution of lipids to metabolism.

What is the difference between A1 milk and A2 milk?

Milk from our indigenous breeds like Gir, Sahiwal etc is categorized A2 whereas the milk from the exotic breeds such as Holsteins, Jersey etc is considered A1. There is a difference in the ratios of lactose and fatty acids in both milks. However, it is the protein component in the milk that differentiates the two from each other in terms of quality. A1 milk has A1 type of protein (casein) and A2 milk has A2 type of protein (casein). This is important because the way the milk is broken down and metabolized in the system is different.

When the body tries to breakdown casein in A1 milk, a chemical component called BCM-7 is released, which is the reason for morphine-like effects on the Central Nervous system. BCM-7 causes addiction towards milk, hence children prefer to consume milk all the time. Neuro disorders like cognitive disorders, which affect learning ability and aggravated symptoms of autism, are also caused by A1 milk, because of the presence of a morphine-like compound. Morphine effect causes constipation, hence, children who consume A1 milk are usually constipated. A2 milk encourages better immunity. Studies have shown that consuming A1 milk could negatively affect the immunohormonal system, and contribute to type 1 diabetes or heart disease. Benefits of A2 milk far outweigh the potential risks caused by A1 milk on the human body.

What is Free Grazing or Grass-Fed Milk?

Cows in large dairy farms are usually tied all day and are fed with a lot of unnatural diet. The natural diet of Cows is wide variety of seasonal Green Fodder. This can be possible if the Cows graze in vast Green Pastures and Forests throughout the year which substantially increases the Vit A and D in milk and also improves the health of the cows.

What is Cruelty Free Milk?

Hormone Free – It’s a usual practice by dairy farmers to inject the cattle with harmful hormones like the bovine growth hormone and oxytocin which have known to cause complications such as pre mature puberty in children. Our milk is 100% hormone free. Each and every cattle at our farm has a name and we all consider them a part of our family. Calves Priority – We give first priority to the calves by feeding them 25-50% milk of the milk and once they are fully fed we start the milking process.

All the cows, be it milking or non-milking are treated the same way and none of them end up in the streets. This entire process makes our milk ethical and cruelty free.
